This is a virtual program.

We will be joined by Katherine Coughlin of The North Shore Land Alliance, with the support of The Nature Conservancy, to discuss how updating cesspools or septic systems can not only save homeowners money, but also help save our bays and harbors.

Did you know that outdated septic systems are the number one cause of nitrogen pollution on Long Island? Nitrogen pollution has resulted in harmful algal blooms, thick mats of seaweed, fish kills and the overall decline of the shellfish industry. Swapping outdated septic systems with clean-water technology can remove up to 90% of nitrogen pollution from our bays and harbors.

Want to know more about how you can help improve water quality on Long Island? Join us via Zoom to learn about clean-water septic systems designed to reduce nitrogen pollution in Long Island’s rivers, beaches, and bays. Audience participation welcome (Q&A).

See how you can be eligible to receive grants as much as $20,000 or more to replace outdated septic systems.
