Program Description

Event Details

Attend this informative session to learn how you and your family can help to restore the local beaches we love! The Oyster Restoration Project has sites at several beaches on the North Shore, including Laurel Hollow Beach and Eagle Dock Beach.  It's a fantastic family activity and an awesome opportunity for kids to get community service hours.

Cage construction will likely take place in June and baby oysters will be delivered in early July. Participants help to care for the baby oysters in the shallow waters of our beaches over the summer season.  When large enough, the oysters will be released in our local waters to help keep the water clean.

This program will be presented by Rob Crafa, Waterfront Director at SUNY Maritime College and oyster gardener, Deborah Perrone.
