About the artist:
Marie Sheehy-Walker is an artist native to Long Island, New York and presently lives in Centerport. After receiving her BFA from Rosemont College, Pa., she studied at the Art Students League in New York City under Robert Brachman, Robert Beverly Hale, Gustav Rehberger, and Timothy Clark.

Marie is a classical artist who works in pastel, oil, and watercolor. She has been strongly influenced by the beauty of our natural world and her inspirations spring from the grandeur of our National Parks to the old boots in the basement.

In addition to working out of her own studio, Marie has over 40 years of experience as an art teacher. She is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America, the American Artists Professional League, the Salmagundi Club, the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club as well as many local groups. She has been listed in Who’s Who in American Art since 1984. Marie’s work has won numerous awards and has been exhibited nationally and internationally.
