Event Details
Beth Johnson and Kim Thomson have known each other for over 40 years becoming friends through Nathan Hale Garden Club. They initially bonded over a common interest in creating textural gardens filled with flowers and foliage that change seasonally. They shared plants, ideas, and even have Scandinavian roots in common. Beth is an accomplished basket weaver and photographer with an eye for moody skies and sweeping Long Island shorelines. Kim spent many winters rug hooking, weaving beautifully-dyed woolen strips into art work, which eventually caught Beth’s interest. Returning the favor, Beth made a suggestion to Kim’s husband, resulting in a box of pastels and classes with Marie Sheehy-Walker for Christmas. This exhibition is their collaborative journey, inspired by our natural world, built on sharing creative ideas, and encouraged by their teachers.
