Grades 7-12. Newcomers to the teen library volunteer program will get an overview, introductory folder and information on some upcoming volunteer opportunities.

Bertie Bots AND Jellybelly? Let’s take a chance. We will do blind testing as well as specific reviewing of popular flavors, plus unravel the secrets of multi-bean combos!

Grades 7-12. Earn community service credit for assisting our librarians with this children's program for Grades 1-5 including setup, operating the program and cleanup.

Grades 6-12. In this lab we will test out a variety of sensory items, from pin art boards, to giant step pianos, to ring fidgets.

Make custom tote bags using our heat-press Cricut machine. Select your favorite image online (Ex: Mario, Hello Kitty, Animal Crossing) and we will be able to print it on your bag, which you can then customize further with fabric markers. 

Grades 7-12. Join us in painting the boulders behind the library near the trail entrance! Participants will earn 2 hours of community service credit. Meet at the stairs to the library and remember to dress for a mess! 

Step into the planetarium bubble and be immersed in the night sky. In this fun program, you will be able to observe the constellations of the current night sky, see vibrant imagery of the planets, stars and objects in our solar system.

Grades 6-12. Enjoy Japanese treats and learn about the country!

Bring the outside in with famous American artist Georgia O'Keeffe, then create your own art inspired by her colorful paintings of the natural world.

Grades 7-12. Earn community service credit for assisting our librarians with this children's program for Grades 1-5 including setup, operating the program and cleanup.

Using our big screen, take part in a fun trivia challenge. If we have enough participants we will split into teams - winners get bonus raffle tickets! 

Topics will include: 

"My Friend Dewey" 

Create custom desk and wall art using upcycled vintage picture frames and cutout images from discarded childrens books and magazines. These unique frames make for a great gift!

For kids and adults ages 10 and up. Learn about the interconnectivity of our local ecosystem and how to protect it. Meet the wildlife ambassadors from Wildlife Center of Long Island.

Stuff, dress, and take home your very own sasquatch!

Color our world by unleashing your inner artist with these paint drip cake pops by Fanny Cakes! Learn to mix, ball, dip and decorate to create delicious masterpieces.

Grades 7-12. Read to kids! We will pair volunteers with storytime groups, this time reading summer themed books. Earn 1.5 hours of community service credit.
