Miss Maybell & the Jazz Age Artistes

Miss Maybell & Charlie Judkins came together in 2018, bonding over their mutual love of early Jazz, Ragtime and Blues music of the 1890’s - 1920’s. As a duo, they source their tunes directly from dusty old 78 records and antique sheet music, trying to give new life to songs created over 100 years ago. Together, this pair has toured all over the country and abroad, sharing their passion for this bygone era of music. As native New Yorkers, they have a particular affinity for the songs that came from the city’s famous “Tin Pan Alley”, as well as reviving and preserving the repertoires of the city’s vaudeville and recording stars of yore. Between Miss Maybell’s deep contralto voice and Charlie’s virtuosic piano accompaniments, they have developed a well deserved reputation as two pivotal up and coming interpreters of this historic style of music.
